So, moral of the story: Even if it's supposed to be warm, bring at least a down vest. If you are trekking in the colder seasons, DEFINITELY bring a down jacket. Any down will do, but Rab is awesome and less expensive than the name brands more widely known in the US (ahem, NorthFace!). The great thing about down, too, is that it is lightweight and easy to smush up so that it won't take up too much space or poundage if you don't end up wearing it.
